Stunning!!!
Thanks Linda. This one didn't quite work out the way I'd planned. I was a bit tired when I worked on it and I kept getting it wrong (shading the wrong bits, etc) but I persevered and am happy with the end result. Goes to show that one should never give up on a piece of artwork 🙂
hi Christine, just saw this image on sketchbook project. is the zentangle a kind of meditative drawing, like a mandala? maybe. its quite trancey, on the cream paper/background it is just lovely. happy drawing and making stuff this week!
Rosie
Thanks Rosie. Zentangles are a form of ‘meditative doodles’ really, or as I refer to them, ‘doodles with intent’. They’re fun to do & thinking up and creating the actual patterns is quite relaxing. I only came across this form of doodling a little while ago when I was looking for some form of artwork that could be managed within small amounts of time. I have chronic fatigue and often lack the energy and/or level of concentration to do anything too complex, so this suits me just fine. I can do five minutes at a time and still feel I’ve achieved something at the end of a week other than sleep, work & eat :-)))
Looking forward to see your Sketchbook entries for 2012 – have fun!
